New Product Introduction (NPI)
Over the last 20 years, Paramit taken many customers to mass production, and you'll benefit from the wisdom we've gained from both mistakes and smart decisions.
During our NPI process for board- or system-level products, we provide feedback to your design team to improve manufacturability, increase quality and reliability, and reduce the cost of the product when it goes to mass production. Our approach also reduces or eliminates sustaining engineering requirements post-launch.
At Paramit, we dedicate fast track lanes for new products in order to meet customers' needs for less formal change processes. Our NPI teams are agile, independent, and have the autonomy to make rapid decisions.

Key Elements of NPI Services
- NPI Assembly. We understand that during the development process things are fluid, changes are expected, and that despite the best of plans we need to pull the schedule in. To meet these needs, Paramit offers dedicated NPI teams that have taken many new products to mass production. They ensure that NPI runs have the highest level of priority to meet customer commitments on 3- and 5-day turns. Our NPI teams can handle co-signed kits or provide full turn-key support. In addition to board builds, our NPI teams can also handle full system integration including mechanical assembly, potting, cabling, and other manual operations.
- DFM analysis and Design Feedback. One of the challenges of the high complexity mid- to low-volume development process is assuring that design is defect-free based on a very small sample size. In other words, how do we ensure that there are no latent defects during a limited qualification build process? To reduce the likelihood of latent defects, Paramit utilizes Valor DFM tools to verify that your layout meets established criteria. Our process ensures that the board is built correctly the first time, so when volume ramps to production there will be no nasty surprises. Valor tools have been shown to reduce defects on the average by 70% compared to the rest of the industry.
- Board Test and Failure Analysis. During the development process, manufacturing plays a key role in bring up and debugging of the board. Despite short time frames, it is absolutely crucial that the board is built absolutely perfectly with no manufacturing-introduced defects; this approach allows the designer to focus on design-related issues, rather poor build quality distractions. Paramit's extensive test capability is dedicated to ensure that every board is built according to specifications. And while no single test has a 100% coverage or observability, a combination of several test methodologies combined with prudent DFM-driven design techniques can reduce the likelihood of latent manufacturing defects to a minimum. Just ask us about the manufacturing DPMO quality levels that we deliver to our customers.
- Final Test and Fixture Development. An important step in mass production product readiness is final test. Our test engineering group will work with you to develop a test set-up and fixturing appropriate for your product in a mass production environment. We will work with your engineers to make sure that test is production-ready by your mass production date. We have electrical and mechanical engineers experienced in rapid test development.
- PCB Design Services & Engineering Analysis. Paramit’s in-house PCB layout services are available within the overall NPI process to implement any design updates that are needed for DFM issue resolution, cost improvements, or design maintenance.
- Component Engineering. Design engineers often use up to 30% of their time chasing parts. Paramit's component engineering service helps to reduce your workload by offloading the selection of a large number of generic or low value components; this allows your engineers to focus on more value added tasks such as working on more challenging parts of the circuitry and test development. We can help you populate your BOM with qualified parts that are checked for cost, availability, and supply chain risk.
